PIP seeks justice for blind couple

As reported in the Birmingham Mail on the 19th August, The Personal Injury Practice has taken up the case of a blind couple who are taking action against train operator London Midland. There are echoes of the widely reported incident involving a bus driver in Manchester who refused to help a wheelchair user get off the bus he was driving.

In the latest situation where a 'jobsworth' attitude seems to have taken hold Jim and Sally Newbold were taking a day trip from Birmingham to Lichfield with a sighted helper to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. They asked the driver if he could help them get off the train when they arrived at Lichfield but, they claim, he refused saying that it was 'not his job'. Sally then broke her leg after struggling to get off the train and needed an operation.

Dominic Moss, senior partner at the Personal Injury Practice, said: “We were appalled when we heard what had happened and are delighted to have been recommended to pursue a compensation claim for Jim and Sally”.

Client service improvement with our brand new Case Management System log-in area

We will shortly be launching as part of our new case management system a client log-in area. This will give clients access to the progress of their claim, plus exclusive content on matters such as highway claims and debt recovery.

Access to this part of the site will require you to provide a Username and Password in order to log-in to that part of the site. Former clients will also be able to utilise this part of the site to access the exclusive content and articles of interest.

New promotional campaign – the funnier side of the road.

Outside our offices we have a new promotional sign (pictured below) that visitors and those driving past may have noticed. Created by Chrissy Curbishley at a local design agency 'We'll Bake You Cookies' (click here to visit their website) - it has had a great response from those that have seen it.

A touch of humour in a frequently serious world has lifted the spirits of those driving or walking past.

The signs will be changing quarterly - so look out for the next one in the summer time!
