Accident Solicitors No Win No Fee Bradford

Bradford is a city in West Yorkshire, having received its charter as a city in 1897 and with a population of 525,000.

Bradford developed during the 19th century as a manufacturer of Wool textiles and the wealth it created is reflected in a large amount of Victorian architecture such as the Italianate City Hall. The textile industry declined  in the mid-20th century.By this time the populace of the City had a proud war service history, sharply brought to mind this year on the centenary of the Somme as 10th West Yorks suffered the highest casualty rate of any battalion on the Somme on 1 July 1918. The Second World War brough US troops to the City, evoked memorably for the ladies of Yorkshire by Richard Gere in the film “Yanks” that featured locations in Bradford.

The City post world conflagrations has come to be best known as a multi-cultural and vibrant Yorkshire gem. Cricket is the sport of choice across the communities and the Bradford league has a proud history of star players including the likes of Jack Hobbs. Prime Yorkshire beef is source of the perennial success of Bradford Bulls Rugby League club, hopefully heading back soon to the Super League but with a glittering history at the cavernous Odsal Stadium that remains the world record attendance for the sport of over 100,000. Famous names like Keith Mumby and Ellery Hanley played for Bradford Northern and the Bulls in recent years included Jamie Peacock, the current England Manager.

On a sadder note Bradford City was the site of a terrible loss of life in a fire in recent decades but the team has often roused the City to cup glory and remains a lively attraction today.

Today the greatest living Bradfordian might be thought World famous artist David Hockney, still exhibiting his work at the Royal Academy in 2016, though other might beg to differ and proffer Gareth Gates. Past cultural icons include J B Priestley and Fred Delius. The City is well provided for by the University of Bradford.
